New Age People: A place to rejuvenate Mind, Body and Spirit
New Age People, located on 86th Street on the north side of Indianapolis, offers something for everyone -- whatever your spiritual path. Much more than a store, this is a perfect place to relax, browse and indulge.
Set foot inside the door and you instantly feel at peace, almost sensing that time is standing still - just a little. The sweet mix of incense and fresh coffee tickles the back of your nose and you are lulled by the soothing chant of Gregorian Monks.
The first section of the store features an impressive display of crystals, sculptures, candles, incense, aromatherapy, clothing, jewelry and unusual gift items. New Age People also has a comprehensive magazine and book selection covering topics such as Religion, Metaphysics, the Paranormal and Feng Shui, to name a few. For those a little more interested in developing their own spiritual ability, check out their intriguing selection of Taro Cards, Spirit Guide and Angel decks.
The metaphysical classes offered here are extensive. Weekly classes include Meditation ($15), Psychic Development ($10) and Deeksha – Oneness Blessing ($20).
Psychics offer personal readings in 15-minute intervals ($20) using Palmistry, Tarot, Clairvoyance or Numerology, a system based on numbers and their influence in our lives.
For the more practical among us, a variety of massage is also available from practitioners. Make an appointment for Deep Tissue, Reiki, Swedish or Cranial Sacral Therapy (one hour: $65). Every month, New Age People holds a Psychic Fair and Gala, offering free classes and demonstrations. You will find anything from Healing and Grief Loss sessions to a Fairy Garden Tea Party, where adults and children participate in an afternoon of tea, creativity and laughter.
Make your way to the back of the store, and you will discover a small café stocked with a selection of 100 percent organic coffee and loose teas, a perfect place to end your tour.
HelloIndianapolis Tip: New Age People has an extraordinarily comprehensive web site. Check it out before your first visit. Call in advance for psychic readings.
