Nicky Blaine’s: Indy’s premier cocktail lounge & cigar bar

May 23, 2010

Nicky Blaine’s is a welcome respite from the noisy nightclub scene. Voted one of America's Best Bars by Esquire magazine, this Martini and cigar nightclub is a place where friends can talk, share cocktails and relax.

Visit Nicky Blaine’s in the center of Indy’s downtown area, and you will walk into a lavish basement with leather couches, moody lighting and deep red décor. With such a 1950s retro look, you could expect Dean Martin to walk in at any time.

The bar serves a selection of cocktails, martinis, single malt scotches, vodka, import beers and wines. Two walk-in humidors enable them to store a vast selection of specialty cigars, while a smoke infiltration system takes care of the lingering aroma.

The Martini menu blends classic mixes with original recipes that are sure to please. The menu is headed with the Dean Martini – Bombay Sapphire, dry vermouth and a single olive. The Cagney is a blend of Effen vodka, dry vermouth and a squeeze of lemon served with a rosemary sprig and gorgonzola olives. Order the alluring Black Martini with raspberry vodka, Chambord and a splash of cranberry juice.

Finish off your drink choices with a decadent dessert Martini like the favorite Blaine’s Chocolate Martini – two Godiva chocolate liqueurs combined with Frangelico and vodka. Try the Breakfast at Tiffany’s – Stoli Blueberi vodka, Vanille Royale cognac liqueur, Chambord and Frangelico.

Nicky Blaine’s cigar and cigarette collection features an array of worldwide blends. From the Domincan Republic, there is the Cohiba Corona, or try the Cuban crafted Medina 1959 Miami Edition Robusto. From their flavor infused cigars menu, try the Gurkha Louis XIII Robusto - a Gurkha cigar infused with Louis XIII Cognac.

Appetizers at Nicky Blaine’s are available until 2 a.m. Choose from a Cheese and Fruit Assortment with brie, gorgonzola and smoked Gouda served with crackers, glazed pecans and seasonal fruit. Finish the night with Fondue for Two - luscious melted chocolate, served hot with pound cake and strawberries.

HelloMetro Tip: Nicky Blaine’s also has a private room for parties. Reservations required.
