Aesop's TablesA staple and well established restaurant in the cultural district of Massachusetts Avenue, Aesop's Tables straddles a prominent corner well within easy walking distance of all the major downtown Indianapolis theatres and stores. Serving fresh Mediterranean cuisine, Aesop’s has been on the restaurant scene for almost a decade and a half. A clean interior with plenty of space for a relaxed dining experience, Aesop’s upholds the European flair for style with an interesting miscellany of masks, artwork, glass-topped tables and tapestries, plus the use of a sunny color palette. Their outdoor seating area really is a prime spot for people watching on the busy Mass Avenue, with plenty of patio seating that winds its way around the front and side of the restaurant. Emanating a friendly vibe combined with faultless food presentation and healthy fare, Aesop’s more than manages to keep its customers interested. Although some of the entrees on the menu can seem a little on the expensive side, the restaurant does provide a good array of Mediterranean-inspired dishes, many of which offer a twist on the traditional. Aesop’s Dipping Plate is a great way to start the meal, offering a rich sampler of breads and spreads. All entrees are served with a house salad, and the dishes come from Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece, to name a few. Choices include Portuguese Chicken and Shrimp, Wild Mushroom Fettucine and the exotic Arroz En Rania, a Spanish Islands dish with shrimp and mussels in a mildly spicy sauce. Finish off your Mediterranean medley with the spectacular Aesop’s Chocolate Cake Supreme. This individual chocolate cake dotted with walnuts and chocolate chips comes topped with warm dark chocolate glaze and whipping cream. HelloIndianapolis Tip: Visit the restaurant's website for the “Recipe of the Month.” Don’t forget to ask your server about the monthly specials.
