Cagney King has been a student of art since she was able to hold a pencil. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Cagney was encouraged by her grandparents, who were instrumental in pushing her to always pursue her dreams and do her best. 

Cagney studied art and journalism through high school with art as her major course of study. She took formal training at Ball State University while working to obtain a Bachelors of Science in Telecommunications. She continues to study independently, albeit informally, at John Herron School of Art in Indianapolis.

While Cagney enjoys all artistic media, she works mostly in watercolour, oil and graphite. Only in the past few years has she begun to explore and enjoy abstracts and textures. Her recent works involve pushing the boundaries of exploration in mixing watercolors and oils onto the same canvas with unique and sometimes surprising results.

Currently, Cagney resides in Fortville, Indiana. She works as a Broadcast Specialist and Marketing Engineer for a small advertising agency specializing in strategic marketing and creative ventures. 

Cagney has also worked as a freelance artist, completing multiple commissioned pieces. Her biggest accomplishment to date has been traveling to Belize to teach art to the Third World children in that country.
