Gray Road Christian School Reviews

The pre-school program is excellent. The children are actually being taught, as opposed to babysat and having fun at the same time. The worksheets teach the children their letters, numbers, blends, basic coloring and cutting skills (and not in an overwhelming way). Not to mention they are learning how to write their letters and numbers. The way the teachers care about each child, pray for them and take the time to really teach them far outways whether they paint or not (which both of my girls painted in their pre-k classes). Gray Road definitely has a quality pre-school and elementary school program.

This school is amazing! The teachers care about every child and make them feeled loved and nurtured on a daily basis. Both of my children com home every day excited and have learned something new. I am thrilled we found this school and will continue to make any financial sacrifices necessary to keep my children in this school. My children are worth the investment!

Pre-School Program is lacking developmental appropriateness. I have never seen so many worksheets??? Students never paint ('It's too messy.') This schools gets by because of it's clientele, not the quality of instruction. Wishing I would of provided my daughter a better PreK experience.

I am delighted w/ the teachers and the teaching at GRCS. My girls are way ahead of the public school students. The teachers are quality and care about our children. I frequently hear 'My teacher says.....' and my child goes on to report a life lesson thrown into regular teaching. I only wish the school went all the way through high school!

Love it! Excellent education, sweet qualified teachers that love Jesus and seek to show him in all they do

I can't say enough about this school. It is absolutely wonderful! The teachers are so positive and nuturing, always available to both the children and parents. Every child is special in their eyes and the children know it. My son is now eager to go to school each day. Before he struggled academically, complained of all the pushing in the hallways, and appeared to be withdrawing from contact with his classmates. Over his first year at GRCS, his grades slowly improved. His teacher commented that he always seemed so happy and wondered why. I told her that he loved everything about this school and his teacher; that he felt like he belonged there; and that he felt comfortable and safe. The 2nd year my son made the honor roll all year! Everyone is his friend, he knows all the younger children by name. I am so proud of him and GRCS!

I have 2 children attending, 1 in kindergarten and 1 in preschool. we are so pleased with the school and staff. Every staff member is so welcoming and loving towards the students and so happy to see them. The principal is a wonderful woman and is a great leader. We are very happy with the curriculum and love that the bible is the center of their learning. We will definately attend next year and cannot say anything negative towards the school or staff. We love GRCS!!!!

My daughter is in the kindergarten class and has excelled the past 2 years she has been at gray road. I am amazed at the extra time the teacher's go through to help the students with academics. She has learned more than she would have at public school and i really enjoy the parent interaction that is maintained at this school. On top of all this she is learning spanish and knows many bible verse. I love this school!! my daughter is extrememly happy here. I will continue her education here until 6th grade!!-grcs parent

My daughter attends 1st grade this year, we are so pleased with the high standards they hold. Not only do they maintain high academic standards, they have added programs like spanish. As for the staff, they are true examples of Godly Character. The Administrator is an true strength to the school, as well as her office staff. After working with other schools at 4 different grade levels, I am very impressed with the envolvement of parents. The PTA staff especially. I would push hard for anyone to consider their school in the future. Thanks Gray Road for an amazing opportunity.

My daughter will be ending her first year as a student at GRCS. She is 4 years old, and as a child in 1st steps for childhood development and speech since 2, I was amazed at how well she is doing. The school is a wonderful atmosphere and the staff is wonderful. My daughter is truly happy, and so am I. She is achieving more and more everyday. The love the teachers have for these students is enormous. I have faith that my child is truly happy, therefor I am too. They are always will to work with you in all aspects. I love it.

This is the second year for my child @ GRCH & she is in PREK4 and I must say that I am very pleased with the amount of Biblical teachings that she is receiving & learning about God & I think that is great! Granted, they need more academics, but I guess in due time. The teacher is also very open & communicates to me about my child. I wish though, in the mornings, when you drop your kid off that the Principal & other staff would acknowledge the parents as well, instead of just saying 'hello' to the child, as I think we all should show a loving Christian atmosphere for our kids.

My grandchildren have attended GRCS for 2 years and will return this year. One of my grandchildren needs additional help from time to time and receives it from a teacher who lovingly expects the best from her students and gets it. I am very please in the quality of biblical teaching and education the children are receiving. These children are at least 1 year ahead of public school. The Administrator greets the children daily with a hug and encouraging words. She is a dedicated professional and her door is always open. There is a need for extracurricular activities which is being addressed. I am amazed at the difference in opinions regarding the quality of GRCS. GRCS tries to reach out to the families encouraging them to be a part of their childrens education and welcomes them into the classroom. Check the school out for yourself!

I too had a child at GRCS for a few years. Last year was the last for my child though. I got tired of how one thing would be said by the administration and another would be done. They only told you what you wanted to hear then did just the opposite. Sad to see how this school is being run now. It used to be great up until about 2 years ago. Now, other great Christian schools will benefit I guess, as my child will attend one that is what it is supposed to be--a loving and caring environment with great leadership.

My 3 children have been attending GRCS for 7 years now. I can't say enough about how wonderful the school and staff are. The Principal is so loving and enthusiastic she is very motivating and dedicated. The teachers are caring and most of all they are Christians that love teaching the word of God. Private schools need to have more fundraisers because of the smaller enrollments it's harder to earn decent money for the school. The curriculum is Wonderful. My kids excell over the public schools. Dress code is perfect. I've never seen anything inappropriate (& i'm picky)! Staff turnover is because of teachers starting families and wanting to stay at home with their babies. PTF are very very dedicated helpers, They are volunteering their time for free for out kids. Tuition is kept low due to teamwork of teachers. Overall, The school rates an 'A+'.

We are another family who will not be returning to GRCS. I am quite suprised at the extreme differences in opinions. Are we talking about the same place because that certainly has not been our experience. The fundraisers were ridiculous this year. Combined classes again and more than likely again next year. Even though you are told they will do everything they can to avoid that. The prinicpal is teaching a class because they can't afford another teacher. The turnover of the few elementary teachers left is high and there is nothing to offer but the required basics.

My child's last year at GRCS will be this year. I thought this school would be great for my child, but due to internal frustrations with the lack of leadership, inter-office communication (or lack thereof should I say), endless fundraisers, and overall aspect, my child will not be returning. Yes, there are a few great teachers. Plus, there is no extracurricular activities at all.

As a parent with 2 children currently at GRCS, I have to say that while the children enjoy seeing their friends everyday, I too have been disappointed in the leadership. I was led on to believe that this school was great and had great leaders, but I have seen beyond the smiling front they always put on, and I must say, I definitely do not appreciate how I have been treated at times and some of my friends have been treated. I know that my children will not be returning next year. I have been disappointed in the fact at how things have been run recently, especially with the overwhelming amount of fundraisers, more than usual. My child comes home and is made to feel that if they don't participate in it, they aren't good enough.

Little to No extracurricular activities, My children and extended family have been attending this school for 7 years now and this will be our final year due to the inner 'office' junk that has only started this term... In the past I have had nothing but wonderful things to say about the school, the teachers, everything.... but now the tution keeps rising, the teachers changing, and I am pretty sure we are on our 7 fund raiser of the year.

My experience with this school is that although the administration is very nice and personable, the school lacks leadership. The school is not consistant with discipline. Turnover rate for new teachers is high. The school curriculum is very advanced, with most students operating on one grade level higher than they are at. The curriculum, however, lacks much in 'hands on' and creative learning activities, and students are pushed to learn out of their developmental level. Some students who cannot catch on are left behind. There is no support for special needs students within the school. When checking out the school I seemed to have been told a different story about how this school operated. If you are looking into this school for the Christian education alone, you may be better off teaching religious matters at home and looking into another school for academics.

I used to have an elementary student at GRCS. I withdrew my child due to frustration of my child's needs not being met. I know I am not the only parent that feels that way.

While the principal is an amazing person, she is not a leader, and this shows in the turnover among Teachers. The biggest problem is the school comittee which altered the dress code and made inappropriate attire o.k. The atmospere is good and the teachers who have been around for a few years are Great, if you can look past the so-called dress code you will like the school.

This my daughter's fourth year at Gray Road and my son's first year. We have been thrilled with the over-all educational experience. This is the first year I have been able to be involved with the parent/teacher fellowship, and it has made me appreciate the school and administration even more. All of the elementary teachers have been there three or more years. The kindergarten wing has several new teachers because of recent growth, but is also graced by a veteran K-3 as well as Kindergarten teachers. I am not aware of any other school that encourages parental involvement like Gray Road. The administration is very involved with the students and demonstrates her love for them daily. Everyone at Gray Road works very diligently, by God's grace, to give each child an exceptional Christian education. I'm sure the enemy is gleeful over such misrepresentation as has been registered here.

I currently have two children enrolled at GRCS. My children love it! It is so refreshing to wake my children up each morning for school and have them get up without grumbling. Some of my friends tell me stories of their kids dreading school days. Mine look forward to Mondays! The teachers not only stretch them academically, they teach them much about the Bible and how God's Word applies to their lives. Recently I spoke with a friend about a project my 4th grader was working on. She commented, 'That sounds like a high school or college assignment!' What a great experience it was for my child. And the learning is fresh and fun for students. I consider GRCS a true blessing for me and my children. I wouldn't have them anywhere else!

My Daughter has been enrooled at Gray road from Pre-K to 4th. WE have always been very pleased with the level of commitment to her acedemic and peronnal growth shown not only by her teacher, but the principal as well. I also have a son who has been enrolled for 5yrs and has special learning needs. He has thrived with the extra help and attention given to him by his teachers and principal. Gray Road is a wonderful school!

I have 2 children in gray road christian school. My oldest is in 3rd grade and has been at GRCS since she began school. I have been and continue to be highly impressed with the quality of the academics at GRCS. My husband and I are both college educated professionals, and we place a high value on quality education. We visited and researched many private and public schools before choosing GRCS, and we have not been disappointed. Our 3rd grader can easily read and understand high school level material, and is far ahead of the national averages in every subject. We are also very impressed by the level of parental involvement. Any parent who wishes to be involved in their child's education has almost unlimited opportunities to do so. The teachers and principal show every student unconditional love and support in many ways each day.

I have 2 students at GRCS, one is in the preschool and one in the elementary. Our family loves this school! The teachers and principal are readily accessible to us. When one of our children was struggling in a subject, her teacher put in lots of extra time and work to find creative ways to help her master the material, and did a fantastic job of keeping in touch with us so that we would know exactly where our child stood. They are also taught to have good character and are learning the Bible. I see that some other parents have complained of being asked about deliquent tuition in front of others. We choose to pay on time, so I can't address that issue. I also notice complaints about teacher turnover. I am only aware of one class that has had a change of teacher during the current school year.

It is interesting that there are 4 very negative reviews all in the same month from someone masquerading as different parents when there were 2 reviews in the previous 2 years... hmmm... this is likely the work of a disgruntled former employee whose employment ended close to that time... hmmm... don't believe it. We have both of our kids at the school and love it. The previous comment about extracurricular activities (such as sports) is fair, but parent involvement is excellent, the principal is absolutely great with the kids and parents, and the teacher quality is excellent. Out kids will definitely be back next year.

Check out this school for yourself! They've got it going on! Gray Road has a loving, happy atmosphere with structure. The teachers genuinely care for the children. They love them and model God's love to them. That means so much to my family. (If my children are not with me, I want them with others who care about them!) The Administrator is very involved and concerned. She has alway made time and listened intently when I have had a concern about my child. I've been more than pleased with Gray Road. I praise God for Gray Road Christian School!

I pay my tuition semiannually so I have never been approached about it personally. I do think that the education is of good quality and more advanced than most public elementary schools. The principal greets and hugs every student every day as they come in for school and my daughter's teacher genuinely wants to see her succeed. I don't believe there are enough extracurricular activities. They try to expose them to different things during the week...(i.e. music, spanish and art classes). I plan on sending my younger daughter there next year to get the discount on tuition. So far...no problems.

As a parent, I would not send my child to Gray Road again or suggest the school to others. The administration is poor and shows favoritism to their 'favorite' parents. They did not seem to see my perspective at all and did not honor my privacy, as I was approached several times in front of others about my tuition. My child did not seem to learn anything extra and above and beyond that of a public school.

I would never send my child here again! The adminstration is not very involved in the pre-school wing and does not understand the parents perspective! Their view is that 'maybe Gray Road just isn't for you.' I have seen too much turnover in staff because of the unhappiness in administration.

This school is not a good school! The administration is poor and does not understand the parental view on their children. The teachers seem to constantly change and there is no firm foundation.

Gray Road is not what it is cracked up to be. I was constantly approached in front of others about my tuition bill, which was a private matter, and the school did not allow parents to visit freely. I felt as if they had something to hide.

My children have been attending this school for 6 years now & we are very pleased. The principle cares and is very active with everything as well as the teachers. My over all rating is a 5++. It is well worth the $ we pay! My kids are straight A students and they are learning about God. In public schools you can't even mention the word 'God' or you can get in trouble. Attending a Christian School is the only route for me!

We love Gray Road Christian School! We love the teachers, we love the principal, we love it all! Our daughter scored 2-3 higher grades than her level, and her biblical knowledge was off the scale! We really love the fact that our daughter learns all about Jesus every single day and has chapel on Friday. We just can't say enough positive things about this school! It's worth it's weight in gold!
